The 8th annual Goodridge Elementary Summer Mural Camp took place July 14th – 17th and included 21 Goodridge students, 7 Conner High School volunteer group leaders, and 1 Conner Middle School volunteer leader. All the Goodridge students were entering either 4th or 5th grade this year. Under the direction of Lori McQueary, artist and muralist, and Laura Mosqueda, FRC Coordinator, the students and volunteers painted two murals.
The first mural in the entry way is called the PBIS or SOAR tree. When students get individually recognized for good SOAR procedures and practices, their leaf, snowflake or flower (dependent on season) will be placed on the tree for all to see.

The larger of the two murals is located in the stairwell between the first and second floor. The mural depicts significant explorers and adventurers - some famous, some not so famous but equally important. Included in the mural are well- known explorers such as Marco Polo, Lewis and Clark, Sally Ride, Amelia Earhart and Robert de la Salle. Also featured are lesser known explorers and adventurers, such as Gertrude Bell, Jeanne Bare’ and Laura Dekker.
